Bubble Soup Bowl
Bubble Soup Bowl
approx. 9 x 14.5 x 14.5 cm
glazed porcelain
This porcelain bowl is inspired by the patterns found in textiles and nature. The bowl belongs to a series of works influenced by South Asian textiles and East Asian “Blue and White” motifs. Employed on the piece alongside patterns inspired by nature, the print block patterns give the illusion that fabric has been placed or draped over the areas they cover.
*Please note, due to the handmade nature of this item each bowl is one-of-a-kind and may vary from what is pictured.
Denise Jeffrey has worked in clay since obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1999. After serving as an apprentice to potters on the province’s south shore, she established her first studio just outside of Dartmouth, NS. Since moving to Burnaby, BC, She has been working to re-establish her studio practice. Working in clay gives Denise a sense of fulfillment. While the process and the product are important to the artist, she also enjoys the way pots connect people.
