These stunning brooch was crafted using the traditional metal-smithing techniques of chasing and repousse, to create an organic, one-of-a-kind composition that highlights the mark of the artist & celebrates beauty in simplicity.
Care Instructions: clean with a regular silver polish cloth, electrolysis, or toothbrush and baking soda scrub.
Erin Christensen received her BFA from NSCAD University in Halifax, NS, in 2015 with a major in Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing. Following her graduation, she was awarded a finalist position for the 2016 Niche Awards in the Student Teapot category and was featured in British Vogue Magazine. She currently lives and works in Victoria, B.C. Erin’s elegant creations are inspired by the flora and the vitality of the West Coast and are rooted in ecocentric values. Working primarily with chasing and repoussé (a traditional metalsmithing technique), she crafts these forms and designs from silver. Erin combines a medley of vibrant patterns and fresh color palettes with precious stones and alternative materials, such as silver, gold, and copper, making each piece a playful garden for the wearer or the admirer to enjoy.
