Born and raised in Iran, Laleh Javeheri expressed her passion for visual arts through experimenting through various of mediums such as drawing, painting and sculpting. As she grew older, she went on to study silversmithing and sculptre at the School of Decorative Arts in Tehran, Iran.
Upon seeing a nuno-felt scarf at a fashion show in Vancouver, BC, she fell in love with felting as a medium. Through researching and experimenting, Laleh developed her skills in felting and by March 2013, her first series of silver jewellery and felt scarves was exhibited in Vashma Trunk Show in Vancouver. Since then, Laleh’s works has been exhibited in numerous galleries and craft exhibitions and in 2016, her piece, Birds 02, won first place in the wearable art category in the Migration Exhibition at the Canadian Felt Organization. Laleh’s current designs combine contemporary geometric and organic shapes in felt with sterling silver to create new dimensions in fibre jewelry.
