Endgrain Cutting Board
Endgrain Cutting Board
approx. 3.5 x 23-24 x 35-37 cm
western maple, eastern maple, red oak, walnut, black locust, cherry, fir, purple heart, birch
An expertly designed end grain cutting board, made a from a variety of woods. The beautiful design makes the board not only functional but also a work of art in the home.
End grain cutting boards tend to be more expensive than face grain cutting boards as there is more labour involved in making them. They are superior in quality as their more fibrous nature allows the knife to sink into the wood fibers while you are cutting, keeping your knives sharper longer. End grain boards have a ‘self healing’ factor as the fibers close up after they have been cut by the knife, leaving the board free of blemishes.
Care Instructions: finished with a food-safe mineral oil and beeswax rub. Clean the board using soap and water sparingly and treat periodically with beeswax and food-safe mineral oil.
*Please note, due to the handmade nature of this item, the woods used and end-grain pattern may vary from what is pictured.
