Born in Burlington, Ontario, LeeAnn moved with her family at a young age to Calgary, Alberta. LeeAnn obtained a BSc in Geology from the University of Calgary and worked as a geologist for a number of years. After travelling abroad with her husband, she chose a new career path in the arts and was accepted into the Alberta College of Art and Design, majoring in ceramics, graduating with a BA in 2000. After graduation, she began a family and took every opportunity to create pottery and sculpture in her spare time. In 2006, the family made a move to Salt Spring Island, B.C. Currently, LeeAnn’s ceramic work has evolved to become more sculptural and is working with Cone 6 clay, and firing in an electric kiln. She enjoys meeting new people and selling her work through her home studio and through Pod Contemporary Gallery in Ganges. She teaches pottery classes part time at her home studio to children and adults.
