fishing line, delica beads, fish hook earrings, peyote stitch
For most of Mishelle's earrings to date, she does single peyote stitch, but the shape of her earrings look as if they are done with a double peyote stitch technique, giving them a unique and very distinct look, thus allowing her to create more complicated designs. She prefers to use Fireline, which traditionally is used as fishing line, but works great for beading jewelry as well. Her preference is fishhook backings consisting of various metals and shades, depending on the colour scheme of her earring. For this mini Wild Collection, Mishelle was inspired by some of the exotic animals of Africa. She has always considered herself a wild and carefree spirit, and is continuously drawn to animal prints, and to create a series based on wild animal prints was something she had been wanting to do for years.
